The youngest whisky released by Port Askaig from their single malt range, the 8 Year Old certainly doesn’t lack the depth of older whiskies, with each sip offering a warming, smoky experience. This Islay whisky provides notes of liquorice, dark peat and a hint of black pepper. This is a 70cl bottle, at 45.8% vol.
Nose: Charcoal, salted crisps and a good squeeze of lemon.
Palate: Soft salted caramel brings a sweetness to the palate, with waves of coastal peat smoke crashing underneath.
Finish: Medium length, with a hot kick of peppercorn.
