Craigellachie 15 Year Old 2005 – Old Particular The Midnight Series (Douglas Laing) (70cl / 48.4%)

Description

Douglas Laing has launched its Old Particular The Midnight Series, featuring some rather heavily sherried single malts, like this expression from the Craigellachie Distillery! It was distilled in 2005, and set aside to age for 15 years in a sherry butt. In December 2020, the cask was cracked open, and the whisky was bottled with an outturn of 357 bottles.

Nose: Bounty bars, honeycomb, brown sugar, and rolled oats.

Palate: Fruiter than the nose, with date, pears, and plums. Still brilliantly chocolatey.

Finish: Toasty allspice notes develop on the long finish.
